To perform an upgrade from a previous version of Virtual TimeClock:
1. Move the newly downloaded version (the entire the Virtual TimeClock 2.2 folder) to the computer in which you want to upgrade Virtual TimeClock.
2. Create a copy of the blank 2.2 time card file and give it a unique name (i.e. MyCompany's 2.2 Time Cards)
3. Optional: Drag the time card file from the previous (pre-2.2) Virtual TimeClock folder to the Virtual TimeClock 2.2 folder.
Make sure you note the name of your old time card file. You may even want to rename it something like "Version 2.1 time card file".
4. Select IMPORT from the File menu.
5. From the Import dialog box, press either of the buttons labeled ‘Select...’ to open the time card files you wish to import from (old time card file) and export to (your new version 2.2 time card file).
Notice that the complete path to the import and export files is displayed in the import dialog box. This is to help prevent any confusion as to which exact file is being exported and imported.
6. Press the 'Import' Button.
7. After the import is completed, launch Virtual TimeClock 2.2. If the "Select Time Card File" open file dialog opens at launch, select your company's new time card file. If you are not asked at launch, select CHANGE TIMECARD FILE form the file menu and select your company's new time card file.
8. Open your time card file (command-T) and ensure your employee data has successfully imported into your new version 2.2 time card file.
